Child hit by bus in Station Approach, Ramsgate

A boy who was hit by a Stagecoach bus in rush hour traffic sustained minor injuries, police said.

The crash happened at Ramsgate Rail Station at 8.21am today, with police spending an hour at the scene.

Traffic was reportedly moving in both directions and surrounding roads shortly after the accident, travel site Inrix showed.

A police spokesman said: “We were was called at 8.21am on Wednesday 28 June 2023 to a report of a collision involving a bus and a pedestrian.

“Officers attended the scene in Station Approach Road, Ramsgate where a child had sustained minor injuries.

“Officers remained at the scene until around 9.45am.”

A Stagecoach spokesman added: “We can confirm that one of our buses was involved in a collision involving a child on Station Approach Road at Ramsgate Rail Station this morning.

“Safety is our highest priority, and our thoughts are for the wellbeing of the child involved.

“We are working closely with the police who attended the scene."
