Drink-driving charge after rush-hour crash

A MAN has been charged with drink-driving following an accident on the A21 this morning that caused rush-hour delays.

Police were called to the southbound carriageway between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge shortly after 8am following a collision between a Fiat Punto and a Man box-van.

Nobody was injured but the truck driver was temporarily trapped in his vehicle.

The road remained open but traffic was disrupted as the vehicles were recovered.

Stephen Ellis, 33, of Bedford Terrace, Tunbridge Wells, was arrested at the scene and later charged with drink-driving.

He was bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 3.
