A crash involving two cars on the Gillingham northern link road has caused delays for motorists this afternoon, Thursday.

The accident happened near Chatham Docks and jams built up for traffic heading to Gillingham.

A Nissan Micra car was in collision with a Fiat at 1.55pm and one lane was closed down by police while they dealt with the incident. The road reopened at 3.10pm.

Paramedics went to the scene but it no-one was injured.

Motorist David Jones was caught up in the delays. He said: “The crash happened in the nearside lane of the Gillingham-bound carriageway.

“It’s been closed while the vehicles are recovered, it happened right outside the entrance for Chatham Docks.

“There is a long line of traffic trying to filter from two lanes into one, the queue I’m sitting in must be a mile long.”
