Police close Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of A249 near Stockbury after car and caravan overturn in crash

The A249 has now re-opened after a car and a caravan overturned.

The northbound carriageway was closed four hours by police as a result of the smash between the Kent Showground entrance and the Stockbury roundabout.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene at around 11.45am, where one person is being treated for a head injury.

Both lanes re-opened shortly after 3.30pm, however motorists can still expect some delays travelling towards Maidstone as they approach junction five of the M2.
