A pub which had its kitchen destroyed by fire is now serving food again.

Sarah Pemble, landlady at the Pepperbox Inn, in Windmill Hill, near Ulcombe, has thanked suppliers and staff for "pulling out all the stops" to get a mobile kitchen up and running less than a week after fire ravaged the pub last Sunday (August 23).

Pub dog Barney Rubble was credited with saving the day by alerting Mrs Pemble to the fire.

Work is currently ongoing to rebuild the main kitchen, and a fund-raising evening in aid of Kent Fire and Rescue was to take place on Sunday, August 30.
