The latest Care Quality Commission report found Maidstone Hospital was meeting the standards in all areas inspected, which included treating patients with respect and involving them in discussions about their care and treatment.

The report detailed some of the patients’ comments, which included: "Staff are always willing to help", "The meals look nice and overall they’re quite a good standard", "The staff are very attentive usually and they help people and do so willingly" and "I trust the doctors and nurses to do their best for me. I haven’t seen anything which leads me to think anything different."

Interim chief of nursing, John Kennedy, said: "We’re very pleased with the finding of the CQC inspection at Maidstone Hospital.

"We always aim to deliver the best possible standards of patient care and this report highlights our commitment to ensuring those standards are kept at a high level."
