A teenage girl suffered serious facial injuries when she was kicked in the face by a horse.

The accident happened on Friday at just before 10am near Hucking.

It is understood that the girl fell from the horse and then was kicked in the face.

The Kent Air Ambulance landed in a field nearby and took the teenager to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

A second rider was also taken to Maidstone Hospital with less serious injuries when, it is believed, they had also fallen from a horse.
