STIMSON: "The supporters will come with expectations and it's up to the players to meet those expectations"

Gillingham v Port Vale

MARK STIMSON has urged his Gillingham squad to guard against complacency when bottom club Port Vale visit Priestfield on Saturday.

The Gills are on a high after recording their first away win of the season at Crewe in midweek, while struggling Vale sit at the foot of League 1 with just three wins.

But boss Stimson, whose side's home record is bettered in the division only by Carlisle and Leeds, has demanded his players do not rest on their laurels as they bid for a third consecutive win for the first time this season.

He said: "Tuesday was a fantastic result and a good performance but now we kick into Saturday.

"Port Vale are bottom of the league, so they will be fighting for their lives but it's about us, how we go about things and what we do.

"The supporters will come with expectations and it's up to the players to meet those expectations."
