ARAFAT: "Twenty20 is the most exciting form of cricket in the modern game"

KENT’S Twenty20 Cup quarter-final against Nottinghamshire on Tuesday represents the biggest tie of Yasir Arafat’s cup career.

Arafat has only played seven one day internationals for Pakistan, so he is fully aware that the game represents his 'shop window’ in the lead up to this September’s inaugural Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa.

He said: "Twenty20 is the most exciting form of cricket in the modern game. Everybody enjoys it, whether they are players or spectators. They love the action and I enjoy it because it suits my all-round game.

"Last year for Sussex I did quite well and got 16 wickets in eight games. I am keen to do better this summer.

"So far I’ve taken 11 in six innings for Kent but there is a chance to add to that and I’m looking forward to it.

"Kent haven’t made it to finals day yet but maybe this is our year. We will miss Morne Morkel, but we do have Andrew Hall back and he has great experience."

A sell-out crowd is expected for Tuesday’s tie which starts at 5.40pm and will be televised live by Sky Sports.
