Talking point: Multi-million youth crime prevention plans

A new day and with it a new set of plans to tackle youth crime.

The Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is proposing putting ex-gang members and after-school patrols on the streets to keep order.

It is part of a £60million package and there is also a proposal to put 'youth experts' into police stations to deal with teenage offenders.

What do you think of these plans? Are there any areas near you where you think they could work? Let us know in the comments section below.
