POLICE investigating the murder of 45-year-old Wayne Greenidge have arrested a second suspect.

A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday and is being questioned at Margate police station.

Mr Greenidge was found collapsed outside the Cherry Orchard Pub on the Newington Estate, Ramsgate, at 7.40pm on Monday, August 13.

An ambulance crew took the father-of-three to the QEQM hospital in Margate where he later died.

A 24-year-old local man was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder. He has since been released on bail pending a decision to prosecute.

Mr Greenidge, of Auckland Avenue, had lived on the estate for 29 years and dozens of floral tributes have been laid near the spot where he died.

His mother, June Greenidge, 68, said: "He made everyone he met happy and he was always the one who would cheer you up.

"I never expected anything like this to happen. It's devastated the whole family."

Mr Greenidge, who was unemployed, grew up in Thanet and attended St Gregory's School in Margate.

He leaves three daughters Liza, 26, Roxanne, 19 and 14-year-old Tia, as well as a 10-year-old granddaughter Bella.

His girlfriend of four years, Sarah, said: "No-one will ever replace him or fill the void that he has left. Since this has happened life has stood still."
