POLICE believe a body which was discovered yesterday afternoon is that of a man who had been reported missing.

Officers had issued an appeal to help find 41-year-old Gary Stockbridge, from Sheerness, who was reported missing by a friend at 8.20pm on Tuesday evening.

But that appeal has been stopped following the discovery of a man's body at a property in Minster.

Sgt Rachel Epps, who was leading the investigation to find Mr Stockbridge, had said yesterday: "We are concerned for Gary's welfare as he was reported to be upset when he went missing."

At this stage police are not treating the death as suspicious.
