Kenneth Hearn: cut head

A frail 87-year-old Broadstairs man has been found after being missing overnight.

Kenneth Hearn was in the hallway of flats in Joss Gap Road this afternoon. He had a cut on his head but otherwise appeared to be well.

The alarm was raised by a carer at 6pm Monday when it was discovered that Mr Hearn, who suffers from Alzheimers and dementia, was not at home.

Concerned police carried out door-to-door searches and called in a helicopter and volunteers from the East Kent Search and Rescue team as fears grew for Mr Hearn's safety.

A passer-by discovered him after he had been missing for about 20 hours.
