Masked raiders strike at supermarket

Masked robbers - one brandishing a hammer - targeted a Kent supermarket last night.

The Co-Op store in Twydal Green, Gillingham, was hit by two raiders at around 8.50pm.

Staff were threatened and forced to hand over money and cigarettes.

It is not yet know how much was taken. A police spokesman said officers were investigating the incident.

No one was injured in the robbery.
