THE Sainsbury’s store at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre at Gillingham had never seen anything quite like it.

Glamorous model and TV personality Jordan was on her way to promote her new fitness DVD and the store was swamped by thousands of fans queuing for a chance to meet her.

She was flanked by security guards and police who had to be called in to control the crowds before Jordan was allowed on to the shop floor.

Dressed in pink corduroy trousers and a short zip-up top, she sat for nearly an hour meeting fans and signing copies of her DVD and her autobiography Being Jordan.

Jordan told the Medway Messenger: “The turn-out here has been really good and it’s definitely the busiest that I have ever seen Sainsbury’s.”

Jordan, whose real name is Katie Price, said the tough regime on her fitness DVD helped her lose more than two stone in two months prior to her wedding to celebrity hubby Peter Andre, who was also popular with the crowds.

Jordan added: “I was so keen to do a fitness DVD because I had eight weeks to get into my wedding dress.

“So I did this work-out and people can really see that it works because it worked for me very quickly. However, she quickly added: “But people have to stick to it to see the benefits.”

The celebrity pair were then whisked away from the screaming crowds to their car parked at the back of Sainsbury’s before making a swift exit from the car park.
