Fourth man in dock on murder charge

A fourth man has appeared in court accused of killing 36-year-old Ted Shaxted in Northfleet in December last year.

Marvin Service, 33, of Brandon Street, Gravesend, was at Maidstone Crown Court for the brief hearing on Friday.

Trevor Lees, 35, of London Road, Northfleet, has admitted manslaughter but denied murder. Kelvin Horlock, 29, of Hatfield Road, Strood, and Bill Saunders, 27, of Shamrock Road, Gravesend, have also denied murder.

The trial date has been put back a week to January 12.

Mr Shaxted, 36, died at Darent Valley Hospital on December 16 after being attacked at his flat in Wallis Park two weeks earlier.
