The Duke of Kent has suffered a mild stroke.

The Queen's cousin was taken ill on Monday, and is being treated in a London hospital.

Born in 1935, the 77-year-old Duke is cousin to both The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.

He inherited his title following the early death of his father in 1942.
