Crews tackle early morning blaze

A smoke alarm alerted a family that their home was on fire.

The blaze broke out at the house in Nelson Avenue, Minster, at around 3.15am this morning.

Although the occupants managed to escape, the ground and first floor of the building were severely damaged.

Three crews, two from Sheerness and one from Queenborough, attended.
