ONE woman had to be airlifted to hospital and two others were injured when a Land Rover overturned on the M2 on Sunday.

The accident happened at about 11.45am between the Chatham and Gillingham junctions.

Fire crews cut off the roof to free the 57-year-old woman and a male passenger. Another man had already freed himself.

Kent Air Ambulance took the woman suffering from head injuries to hospital. The other two were treated for minor injuries.

Police reopened the road at about 1.30pm.
