Man reports being sprayed with noxious substance as men kick hole in his front door in Gravesend

A man has reported being sprayed with a noxious substance at his own home while fending off a group of men who were kicking a hole in his front door.

The attack happened at the man's home in Parrock Street, Gravesend, near to the junction with William Street.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was reportedly awoken by a group of three or four men who were kicking a hole in his front door at 2am yesterday morning.

While attempting to fend them off, the men allegedly sprayed the substance through the hole, causing the victim to suffer a stinging sensation in his eyes.

A "noxious" substance is defined as something injurious to physical or mental health.

He then set his house alarm off which caused the men to run away in the direction of William Street.

The suspects are described as being black, about 5ft 10in, of stocky build and wearing dark clothing. They were also wearing hooded tops and face coverings.
