Teenage girl assaulted in Joyes Road, Folkestone as 17-year-old boy is arrested and Kent Police ask for witnesses

A teenage girl was assaulted by a boy in a daylight attack in Folkestone.

The girl reported that she was attacked on Wednesday, March 11 by the youth, and suffered reddening to her left arm.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened in Joyes Road between 10am and 10.30am.

She was also allegedly verbally abused by the youngster.

A 17-year-old boy from Folkestone has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail.

Investigating officer PC Chloe Chandler said: "The suspect has been bailed while further inquiries are carried out. We hope to be able to speak to further witnesses as part of our ongoing investigation.

"The incident happened in a residential street on a weekday morning. From speaking to the victim we are sure there would have been people who saw something who have not yet spoken to police.
