DOVER Athletic supporters are still waiting to learn who will be picking the first team next season, but they do know that the club will again be sponsored by Hoverspeed.

When club chairman Mick Kemp called a press conference on Tuesday it was expected he would reveal the club’s new coaching structure, but it was actually to announce that the cross-Channel carriers had agreed to extend their sponsorship for another 12 months.

Mr Kemp said: "We will definitely have things sorted out by the end of this week. I have got one more meeting and then a decision will be made by Friday as to what the coaching set-up next season will be."

But he did confirm there will be a part-time chief executive and a set of coaches, including a first team coach or head coach, who will be responsible for training and picking the first team.

He added: "The chief executive will look after the players' contracts and making sure they abide by the club's code of conduct, all the things that you don't want your coach to be bothered with.”
