Car driven into pedestrians outside The Clipper pub in Dartford

Two people were taken to hospital after a car ploughed into pedestrians outside a high street pub.

Officers were called to the Clipper pub in High Street, Dartford at 11.30pm last Friday following reports of a fight between two men.

Both were ejected from the pub.

It was reported one of the revellers then got into a car, believed to be a Ford Fiesta and drove into a group of people and then a parked car.

The man fled scene before officers arrived.

Two bystanders were injured during the incident and were taken to a local hospital.

One person has since been discharged and the other is being treated for a fractured shoulder.

Police confirmed on Monday a 22-year-old woman from Dartford had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

She has since been released, pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Gary Seamark thanked witnesses who came forward to give statements but has urged others to do the same.

"Work is underway to identify the offenders but we would like to hear from anyone who hasn’t yet come forward who may have seen the altercation in the pub or the incident afterwards," he said.
