Arrest after dramatic cliff plunge

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, following a dramatic cliff plunge in Swanscombe.

The car left Craylands Lane in the early hours of Saturday morning, crashed through a fence and landed on its roof.

The two occupants were already out of the Nissan Micra when Thames-side fire crews arrived to help.

A teenage girl was taken to hospital with head injuries which are not thought to be serious, and a 29-year-old man suffered a broken collarbone.

Both were taken to Darent Valley Hospital for treatment.
