YOUNG flute player Robbie Boxall has been selected to play two concerts with his hero Sir James Galway.

Robbie, 10, a pupil at Bodsham school, near Ashford, who is also a student at the Yamaha Music School in Canterbury, is the only son of firefighter Paul and his wife Suzanne from Folly Town, Hastingleigh.

They will be transporting Robbie to final rehearsals and the prestige concert dates.

The youngster has been learning seven different pieces by heart to qualify to join the flute choir at the annual Christmas concerts at Portsmouth Guildhall and Cadogan Hall in London.
